Travel and the adventures brought with it have always been one of Andrew's most favorite things, but it was a flight on a family vacation that first planted the seed that this interest could be a career. Andrew began flight training during his Sophomore year of college and in Andrew-fashion jumped with both feet in. While earning his degrees in Aviation, Professional Flight and minor in Geography at Minnesota State University, Mankato he also worked part time as a Northwest Airlines gate agent and ramp personnel. After graduation Andrew rapidly gained experience as a certified flight instructor, charter pilot flying humanitarian flights, corporate pilot for TCF National Bank, regional pilot for United Express carrier ExpressJet and in his current position as a Denver-based 737 First Officer with United Airlines. As a first generation aviation professional Andrew knows what it is like to be making your way in the industry and how important it is to have mentors and role models like the ones that he was so fortunate to have. Because of the generosity of those that have helped shape him as a professional his mission is to pay it forward. Andrew has been a senior mentor and support staff for seven years. He lives in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife, Katrina Mittelstadt.
