One and half years into college while studying Geology, Nick decided to take off on a discovery flight and immediately transferred schools to Minnesota State University, Mankato to study aviation. It was the freedom of flying and a drastically improving career field that inspired his will to fly. He quickly acquired his ratings while working as a line service technician at North Star Aviation, the provider of flight training for MSU, Mankato. While attending his senior year of college, Nick was hired to fly a Cessna 177 Cardinal to survey pipelines. This opportunity provided an accelerated accumulation of flight hours which led to the next step of his career: flying the Embraer 175 for Compass Airlines where he is now a Captain. He has been volunteering as a mentor and ACE Camp Counselor for the past five years. His favorite part of ACE Camp is the variety of career options students are involved with during the week. It is exciting to see how excited the students are and the strong friendships built throughout the week. Nick currently resides in San Antonio, Texas with his fiancée, Maddie.
